Majority of my life I placed myself into the  role  of being the fixer of love ones or friends problems.

Creating  feelings of anxiety and worry.  

Facing retirement, I didn’t want this to be all I was, but didn’t know how to start, how to change.

What I have gained from Bonita’s guidance  was to recognize my own behavior and responsibility for myself and a healthier way to help loved ones that is not only good for them but for me.
I have changed for the better.  I listen more than having the feeling to fix it!   I have an awareness of  my anxiety and strategies to reduce or stop  such feeling.  I have a better relationships with my family and friends. The greatest change is knowing I am worthy to do things for myself, this has brought joy and peace, I’m truly enjoying retirement.

Bonita saved our marriage and helped us develop the tools we needed to build resilience and to work together to resolve the challenges which inevitably arise in a marriage.

My wife had counselled with Bonita over a two year period to address worth issues arising from childhood trauma and being adopted.

With Bonita’s help, she was able to reach closure and recover her self-confidence and self-worth.

With her new found self-confidence and self-worth, my wife no longer tolerated my ego and anxiety driven controlling behaviors and would not “sign on” to them by sacrificing her own needs.

This led to an emotional roller coaster on my side whereby I intensely disliked her one moment and loved her equally intensely the next.

I knew this wasn’t sustainable and I wanted to save my marriage, so I sought Bonita’s help.

Bonita is very open and empathetic and creates a safe space to talk about difficult topics and she is able to judge how far to go during a particularly emotional session.

With Bonita’s help I learned that the childhood trauma of my mother’s abandonment by my father, her loneliness as a single mother in poverty, her episodic depression and periodic hospitalizations, when my brother and I were suddenly and separately put into foster care, was the primary cause of my lifelong insecurity and anxiety.

Bonita helped me realize that I had coped with insecurity by overperforming in my work, and soothed anxiety with workaholism and distracting projects and by avoiding anxiety inducing situations.

I had abandoned previous relationships when they became too difficult and I did not want this to be the outcome again as I could not imagine life without my beautiful wife.

Bonita helped me to understand the root causes of my anxiety and insecurities and helped me reach closure on the guilt I carried from childhood and from previous relationship trauma.

She helped me realize that my mother wasn’t a victim that I had failed to save as a child; rather, she was a strong woman who did the best she could in the face of societal pressures as a German speaking immigrant in post-war Britain.

Bonita taught me the tools which now help me keep my anxiety in check and avoid escalation.

As a result, my life and my marriage have been transformed.

We highly recommend Bonita but you must be ready to do the work and not expect a quick fix; it will be life changing.
